At mySugr, we want your experience to be as seamless and safe as possible.
Android 16 introduced a feature called Expanded Dark Theme, which reduces contrast and changes colors we use to represent your glucose values.
If you see a warning card in your app and you're seeing the screen in black, it’s because you have turned on the Expanded Dark Theme in your system settings.
You must disable the expanded dark theme to avoid making the wrong therapy decisions:
- Open your Android Settings.
- Go to Display > Dark Theme.
- Disable Expanded Dark Theme.
Please note that you can still use the Standard Dark Theme on your device, which only turns on Dark theme for apps that support Dark theme. With Standard Dark Theme enabled, the mySugr app will display in light theme until a native and safe Dark theme will be made available. We are working on it and hope to provide it soon!
